Adam is a SAMI Fellow and non-executive Director with an extensive background in the telecoms industry and in the use of scenarios. His current portfolio includes being Director of Studies of the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal and voluntary roles in London’s Soho. His recent scenario work has included a project in Romania, looking at the next ten years of the regulated communications market there for the national regulator.

He graduated in Engineering Science & Economics and in Jurisprudence from Oxford; he was called to the Bar, Inner Temple, and holds an MBA at Cass Business School. His PhD thesis, on scenarios and making sense of the future, is entitled Memories for Better Futures. For 18 years he was a fellow at the University of St Andrews. He is a Chartered Electrical Engineer (FIET), a member of the Institute of Telecommunications Professionals and he was appointed an OBE for public and voluntary service in 2008.
