Alia is an experienced strategy consultant and foresight expert with a proven track in Scenario Planning, Systems Thinking and Business Modelling. She is the founder and director of BMAPS, a strategy consulting company based in Geneva, and a network business partner of “Decision Experts S.A.” based in Brussels. BMAPS and Decision Experts are niche management consultancies that help their corporate and non-for-profit clients tackle complex management decision-making in highly-uncertain, rapidly-changing environments, through issue framing, discussion facilitation and simulation-tool building. Undertaken projects address various issues such as pricing for biological drugs, disease patient flow modelling, valuation of innovation projects and business planning support. She previously worked for the World Economic Forum in Geneva, as Deputy Head of Scenario Planning where she directed several year-long Scenarios projects exploring the future of industries and regions, with the outcomes made public at the annual Davos meeting. Before that, she worked as a management consultant in Brussels for IBM Business Consulting Services and PricewaterhouseCoopers across various industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Transport & Logistics and Trademarks. Her expertise was primarily in the field of business modelling to support business strategy and decision-making with a focus on pricing strategy, portfolio analysis, cost-benefit assessment, and valuation, among others. Her client base included global companies and organisations such as Johnson & Johnson, Baxter, Amgen, CompuMark, Novartis and the European Commission. Before becoming a consultant, she conducted extensive research and economic modelling as well as large data set treatment and statistical and econometric analyses at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Université de Montréal.
Alia holds a PhD in Economics from MIT, a Master’s degree in Econometrics and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Université de Montréal.
