Patricia is a foresight, strategy and change consultant and author. She is a recognised practitioner in foresight and strategy development, future thinking, scenario planning and innovation and she advises at all levels, working from factory floor to boardroom. She is also a keynote speaker in Foresight and Megatrends.
Patricia uses foresight, horizon scanning and futures tools to help organisations develop insight into emerging trends, develop a successful strategy based on this insight and then implement the changes needed to carry the strategy out. She has worked in Europe, EMEA, Asia and the USA. She is multilingual.
Patricia has written numerous articles and is the author of the award winning book, Strategic Foresight: Learning from the Future published in July 2015, updated and expanded in August 2017, by Triarchy Press and co-author of business handbook Beyond Crisis: Achieving Renewal in a Turbulent World, published by Wiley in March 2010 and Here be Dragons published in March 2012 by Choir Press. Her book with Gill Ringland, Megatrends and How to Survive them: preparing for 2032, was published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing, November 2018.
Patricia has held senior positions and led teams (OD, software development) at major blue-chip companies such as BP, Motorola and Logica. She was a Programme Director at Management Centre Europe working in the In-Company division (designing and running In-Company bespoke programmes), a Visiting Executive Fellow at Henley Business School and CIPD Faculty for Scenario Planning and Foresight. She is currently a board member of the Association of Professional Futurists (APF) and has edited a professional journal for 10 years. She has run interactive Foresight sessions for London Business School’s Executive Education, The Institute of Directors and the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce). She is and expert advisor to the EC on The Strategic Intelligence Foresight System for Future Research and Innovation Frameworks project.
Patricia supported New Product Development at Motorola and Exploration and Production teams at BP in innovation and creativity activities and development of their strategy. She supported organisation wide change projects, particularly in behavioural change. In her work with a ROSCO and public-sector organisations she used Horizon Scanning to develop insight to inform their strategic choices going forward. She ran focus sessions with a range of different groups, researching the behaviours behind decisions for use of the internet. She has run training sessions in futures tools and advised and supported Boards on developing their strategic direction and implementing those plans.
Patricia has a BA (joint Hons) in Quantitative Methods & Computer Science and Botany, Magna Cum Laude from the University of St. Thomas and Mechanical Engineering coursework from the University of Minnesota, Institute of Technology. Patricia has a Coaching Accreditation from the BP Coaching Programme run by Fielding University. She is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists (APF), The World Future Studies Federation (WFSF) and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.
