Charles has developed skills over 40 years in Market Research, Marketing and Business development.  He has experience in Telecommunication, Publishing, Finance and Education sectors and had hands-on involvement in the IT revolution from first days of PC’s. He established one of the UKs first computerised marketing intelligence systems, co- founded Fintech (CashNet – EFTPOS) start up 1980’s and then founded Cambridge Marketing College in 1991 which he led to a dominant position in its sector,  before stepping back in 2016.

Charles is now a Mentor for Entrepreneurs at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, where he specialises in EdTech start ups and Marketing advice. He is also Vice Chair of Trustees for the Cromwell Museum, is on the Advisory Panel of Harvard Business Review, and an advisor for Astia (astia.org).

He is a member of the Cambridge Philosophy society and a Chartered Marketer and in 2017 was voted one of the most influential businessmen in Cambridge. He is an Author of numerous articles and text books on marketing. He is visiting lecturer in Marketing Strategy and Innovation at Cambridge Marketing Colleges.

Charles has a degree in Modern History and Economics from Manchester University and an MBA from Warwick Business School and joined SAMI Consulting as an Associate in 2021
